MBS Launches New MIS

The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has on Friday launched a new Management Information System (MIS) in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the launch, MBS Director General, Symon Mandala, said the introduction of the modernized platform will help reduce delays in service delivery and enhance operational efficiency within the institution.

Mandala said the system is aimed at improving efficiency in the registration of business-related products and the testing of various goods.

According to Mandala, the newly launched platform is also expected to simplify procedures for businesses and individuals seeking MBS services by enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility.

Minister of Defence, Feston Kaupa, who represented Minister of Information Shadric Namalomba, said government remains committed to promoting digital transformation across public institutions.

He added that authorities will ensure MBS continues delivering quality and efficient services that benefit all Malawians.

Meanwhile, Southern African Trade and Connectivity Project (SATCP) Project Manager, Hastings Ngoma, said the launch of the system is expected to significantly improve operational performance and strengthen the modernization of service delivery processes at MBS.
