Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has increased the winning bonus for each Malawi National beach soccer team player to K3 million.

The development follows the team’s qualification for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.

FAM President, Fleetwood Haiya, said the increament from K500,000 is meant to motivate the players so as to maintain their good performance and achieve more success.

Malawi booked its place after thrashing Seychelles 10-1 in Salima on Saturday, having won the first leg 6-2 away from home the previous week.

The team will make another continental appearance after competing in the 2022 and 2024 editions in Mozambique and Egypt, respectively.

The 2026 tournament starts on November 28 in Senegal.
