New Minister Urged To Promote Small Scale Mining Operations

The Federation of Women and Youth in Mining has urged the newly appointed minister of mining, Thoko Tembo, to focus heavily on promoting small scale mining operations, if the country is to achieve immediate economic gains.

‎The call has been made following the appointment of Thoko Tembo who has been sworn-in on Tuesday as the new Minister of Mining.

‎Speaking with TVI, President of the Federation of Women and Youth in Mining, Anne Kamanga, commended the appointment of Tembo saying the expectations are high that he will execute his duties effectively.

‎She said the new Minister should formalize small scale mining in the country so as to help local people reap the benefit of the precious minerals.
