NBM Customers Frustrated by ATM Service Delays in Blantyre

Some National Bank of Malawi (NBM) customers have expressed frustration after facing delays while trying to withdraw cash from ATMs in Blantyre.

The customers appeared frustrated and angry at the ATMs at Henderson Street and Victoria Avenue Service Centers on Thursday night.

The customers said had waited for about 30 minutes for the ATMs to become operational, only for the machines to work briefly before displaying a message saying “sorry the ATM is temporarily out of service.”

The affected customers have appealed to NBM to urgently resolve the challenge, adding that the delays are making it difficult for them to access their money when they need it.

Responding to the frustration, the bank’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager, Akossa Hiwa, said the card service challenges follow a recent upgrade to the bank’s Card Management System.

She however said the issue had been resolved and all card services are operating normally, adding that the bank is continuing to improve its IT systems to serve its growing customer base.
