Six Arrested For AIP Fertilizer Theft In Ntchisi

Police in Malomo, Ntchisi has arrested six suspects for allegedly stealing fertilizer and seeds meant for beneficiaries of the Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP).

According to Ntchisi Police Public Relations Officer, Sub inspector Salomy Zgambo, the incident occurred on 7 January, at Malomo small holder selling point.

Sub inspector Zgambo says the suspects, including four staff members and a businessman, were nabbed after an investigation revealed they had accessed products without the knowledge of beneficiaries.

The suspects; Stella Banda, Merriam Mtema, Steve Emmanuel, Benard Mtema, James Kambalame and Misheck Bua are expected to appear in court as soon as Investigations are done.

In a related development, two brothers, Lymon Solomon, aged 13 and Grevor Hallison, aged 8, have died after drowning in a well in Mbalame village in the same district.
