Sixty-nine students have graduated from Maone Technical College in Blantyre, with a call to use their vocational skills to establish businesses and contribute to Malawi’s economic development.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Malawi Relief Fund UK (MRF) Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Mangera said the graduates successfully completed a three-year vocational training programme designed to equip young people with practical skills for self-employment.
He added that each graduate received a certificate and a starter toolkit to help them launch their own businesses.
Mangera further revealed that MRF invested nearly K1.2 billion in the programme, which provides training in various vocational trades to empower young people, create employment opportunities, and improve their livelihoods.
He expressed confidence that the graduates would use the knowledge and skills acquired to become productive entrepreneurs and contribute to the country’s socio-economic growth.
